We finally went on a family vacation after about 2 1/2 years. We wanted to visit Jess's mom in Pennsylvania before she moved. We didn't realize that would be 3 days after we left! We went sight seeing during the day and helped her with odds and ends at night. The kids also got to see cousins because grandma had them for the summer at her house. It was a fun but exhausting trip. Here are some of the highlights. We went to Baltimore to see the aquarium there. I have been to the Monterrey aquarium which is impressive so I wasn't expecting to be wowed...but I was. This is a really cool place.

Here are some of the girls at Hershey Pennsylvania. This was one of the places the kids liked the best. Who wouldn't when you are surrounded by chocolate.

Jess's mom watched the kids for us one day so we could go to DC. Can you believe neither of us had been before? Jess is standing in front of the Vietnam Memorial. He found his mom's cousin's name.

Grant posing with a civil war cannon at Gettysburg. They just built a new visitors center which has the most amazing painting of the war. It was painted in 1904ish and has recently been restored. It is like 4 stories high and as big as a football field. Of course after learning all about the battle you get to go to the actual sight. This was probably Jess and I's favorite place.

We went to a beautiful lake not to far from Jess's mom's house. It was very relaxing and it was really nice to go to a place that didn't take hours to get to by car.
