Prehistoric Play

Jess's job in the evening is to give baths to the kids.  I do the dishes.  We are each better at the task we do and the kids are better for Jess when he bathes them.  I found out his secret one night when I went upstairs and found them all watching a program on his iPad as he scrubbed them down.  The thing about Jess is that he also likes to I never know what the kids will be viewing.  Most of the time I approve. :)

The other day I overheard the kids all playing.  They were all trying to bite at a balloon.  One of them was a Dire Wolf, one of them was a Short Faced Bear and one was a Saber Toothed Tiger.  I guess the balloon was their prey.   They were trying to eat the balloon but also stay out of the tar pits.  Who would have thought that bath time could be so educational?

Still Waiting....

Short sales are frustrating!  We put an offer on a house December 9th and gave the bank until March 23, this Friday.  That should be plenty of time right?  We just signed an addendum giving them 3 more months but I'm not sure I can wait that long.  Someone give me some projects please. :)

Always thinking

Grant: "Mom, sisters are daddy's daughters."
Me: "That's right.  And did you know that brothers are mommy's sons?"
Grant: "Brothers are daddy's sons."
Me: "That's true.  My kids are so smart."
Grant: "No.  Daddy's kids are so smart."

Sierra's note

Sierra is very sensitive.  She is my child who can always sense when my mood starts changing from patient   and calm to annoyed and irritable.  The change almost always occurs at 5:00 when I am still trying to get through spelling and math, make dinner, and battle Grant's tantrums because his tummy is hungry.  I really appreciate this in her because she knows when to disappear and let me have my grumpy time alone.

A couple days ago Sierra did her disappearing act at dinner time but came back down and gave me a note.
"Love is helpfule whene moms are around.  eiaspeicaily Kristy Bourgeous my mom.  we love her verry much we lov her as much as Jesus and Hevnly father too.  and so we all love Kristy bourgeous and that is that."

That note has stayed on my fridge, so that at dinner time I can look at it and remember that although being a mom isn't fun all the time, my kids love me.  And I love them.

Sticky Notes

I get the feeling that Reanne sometimes needs some alone time.
