Summer Bucket List

Thank you pinterest for our summer bucket list of ideas to keep the kiddos entertained for the next few months.  The list is literally a handful of ideas they can pull from a bucket every day- from crafts, to fun places to go, to yummy things to make in the kitchen.  Today was a "lego challenge" where they took a lego piece and enlarged it with a bunch of legos.

 Here is Reanne's blue lego.

Sierra didn't get that far, but she still had fun.

Grant made something, which he dismantled before I could take a picture of it.

Digging

Still stressed.  The kids are stressed with the move.  There are no toys to play with anymore.  Sierra stopped throwing up but now she can't walk because her leg hurts so much from the penicillin shot they gave her.  I just want to sell Grant to the gypsies but they probably wouldn't take him.  He is such a monster right now.  An hour ago I slammed my finger in my front door and the whole nail is black.  I haven't cried from being hurt for a long time.  Cried for a while on that one.  I miss my husband.  I'll be able to talk to him in 9 days I think.

On the bright side, they are digging the hole for my new house right now.  Today is day 1 in the build.

Humbled

98% of the time I feel like I am strong, capable and that I can handle pretty much anything.  Today is one of those 2% days.  I miss my husband.

Temple Groundbreaking Ceremony

Today my mom and I went to the Provo City Center temple groundbreaking ceremony.  It was really awesome to be apart of a temple groundbreaking ceremony let alone the new Provo temple.  There is so much history there.  Elder Holland spoke and gave the dedicatory prayer.  He is one of my favorite apostles.  Can you have a favorite?  Is that allowed?

A few different speakers spoke about how the destruction and rebuilding of the tabernacle was symbolic of our lives.  We sometimes experience things that are devastating in our lives, but God always uses those experiences to make us far better than we could otherwise be.  It was a great meeting.

The Hershey Track Meet

Reanne participated in the Hershey Track Meet this week with all the third graders in her school.  We were allowed to sign her up for 3 events so she picked two different runs and the standing long jump.  She was really excited and said that she practiced running at school.  When she came home I was curious to know how it went and she was of course upset about it.  (She is mostly upset about most things.)  She told me that she never came in first in the runs and that she hated being further back than her friends when she started the races (staggered starting lines).

Later that day her teacher emailed me that Reanne got 5th place out of all the third graders that day on the long jump and she was getting a certificate and a chance to go to the district track meet.  I was so excited I ran down stairs and told her the news.  I would say on a scale from 1 -10, it changed her mood from a 2 to a 3.  She really could care less about that long jump.  Oh well.

New Plans

About 5 months ago we put an offer on a short sale.  We really loved the house.  We really wanted the house.  We were in first place and we offered market value on it.  We were positive we were going to get that house.  Well, the house went into foreclosure and we didn't get it.  We were pretty bummed, but we now have a new plan and are really excited about it.  This is it...lot 13.

It's in Mapleton and it's official.  We are going to build.  In the meantime, we will move in with grandma and grandpa as soon as school is over.  I am so excited that the kids will have a yard to play in this summer.  They are going to have so much fun.  I came over the other day and caught a very happy Reanne driving around the big lawn mower.  I have a feeling I will be buying my dad a bunch of gas this summer.
