In 4th grade the students learn about early Utah settlers and the trappers that came through this area. One of the assignments was writing a paper with mountain man language in it. I so remember doing that when I was a kid. It brought back some memories. At the end of the unit the whole fourth grade had a mountain man rendezvous where they made crafts, traded beaver skins for things at the country store, had a three legged race and arm wrestled each other. How fun is that? They even were encouraged to dress up. I helped out that day, so Reanne and I dressed up together in our pioneer garb.
Not finished yet, but we have been having fun working on it. So far it has cost very little money. The mirror was free and then painted. The pictures were a project from when my sisters were in town for Christmas. I just finished the curtains. Sierra especially liked the purple ruffle on them.
