Concert

When Jess and I first started dating he asked me to come listen to him play in a friend's band.  I knew he played the bass guitar so I asked him if he was playing bass in the band.  He told me that he would have, but they were short a drummer so they had asked him to fill in.  I was pretty worried for him and thought that he would embarrass himself.  I thought, just because he is nice doesn't mean that he should try to play something he wasn't familiar with to please the band.  A few times I asked him if he was SURE that he wanted to play that night.  When the night arrived to listen to him play I was so nervous. When the band started I was shocked.  Jess was great at the drums!  I didn't know it but he learned the drums before he knew how to play the bass guitar.  We laugh over that night sometimes.

Last night Jess played the drums again for a friend's band.  The kids and I went to see him.  It was loud and not really our style of music, but Jess did great.  And for this concert he had some groupies.   Reanne made posters to put all over the garage.  Sierra and Grant watched until their eyes got to tired.  I was having a bit of deja vu, but as I watched this time I was surrounded by kids.  It was an odd but good sensation.
